Hi! I’m a printmaker working in the North West of England. I print at Hot Bed Press in Salford. Please visit my website and have a look at some of my prints. Thanks. Incidentally, I also have an OCA blog called The Milkman Goes To College which is intended for my tutor and other OCA students.

You do some really nice work here, my friend. I think it is all artistically beautiful!
Thank you!
Hi, Thanks for stopping by Postcard Cafe and for the you tube link to Sand Sea nad Spray. The street stuff was interesting but what a hidden gem of a song at 6min 36secs!!! Brilliant! Have you anything to do with the video? Do you know who the musicians and singer are – she has a great voice. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes, PC
I know the chap who organised the event but I don’t think he had anything to do with the video or the music. Sorry!
Hello John, thank you for liking and following my blog – I’ve been taking a look at your blog and website and your work is fantastic. I’m looking forward to coming back and seeing more!
All the best, Liz
Thank you, Liz.
Hello John, Congratulations! You have been nominated for the Awesome Blog Content Award. I really enjoy your writing and your fearless challenge to some contemporary art issues! Keep it up. Best wishes, Philippa
Thank you, Phillipa. I’m glad you like my blog. Do I have to do anything now I’ve been nominated?
Sorry! Make that one l and two ps.
good question! YES. I was so busy doing it all that I forgot to pass it on. As it is the ABC award, the idea is to write 26 things about yourself starting with letters of the alphabet and then nominate 6 other bloggers with awesome content for the award. (and then let them know their responsibilities…). Thanks for getting in touch!
Hi John,
I nominated you for an illuminating blogger award. You can check it out at this link:

I’ve only just discovered your blog. There’s some fascinating stuff. I’m currently reading about your late grandmother.
Hi, I’ve nominated you for the One Lovely Blog Award. See it at :

I know the award posts take a lot of work, so please accept the nomination with warmest regards, and if you choose not to participate, all is well.
🙂 Ella Dee
Hi John, I have been viewing your prints on the website. My favourites are the prints of the lily pond. I liked the colours – green, blue and white with the black contrast of the rushes and spire.
There were echoes of these prints in the photographs of the garden/park and its lily pond in a recent post about a sculpture exhibition.
When I saw the lily pond at Tatton I immediately made the same connection (but the other way round!)
Hi John, It’s my great pleasure to have nominated you for the ‘Wonderful Team Member Readership Award’. For all details please visit my blog – art rat cafe. Thank you and I hope you can accept…Your name will appear on tomorrow’s list.

Hello John – I have nominated you for ‘The Very Inspiring Blog Award’. No pressure, just want folks to know that you are here and very worth reading. See my latest Award blog for details. Hope all is well – cheers, John
Hey there, I’ve nominated you for the Shine On award! check out my post
Thanks for checking out my Drawstring blog, John. I’ve just been looking through some of your recent posts and can really relate to a lot of what you’ve written about the pleasures and irritations of gallery-going these days. If it wasn’t so late in the day I would probably now deliver a rant of my own on the subject of photography at art exhibitions and the general propensity among otherwise sane adults to take their aesthetic pleasure not directly but rather via the screens of their mobile phones. I’ll stop there.
BTW, I’m a big fan of Vermeer, too.
I absolutely love this blog! Ty
Thank ye, ma’am. I try to do my best! 🙂
Thanks for liking my recent post. 🙂 I appreciate the encouragement, and love what you are doing here. 🙂
Hello! I just found your blog via scribblah rosie’s blog. I’m a printmaker also, originally from Lancashire but now living in Ireland. I read your post about the 20:20 print exchange which I took part in last year through Limerick Printmakers. I’m going to look through my 2014 prints again now in case I’ve got one of yours. Us Northerners crop up everywhere! Great blog as well, very informative and friendly. Here’s mine – http://dawn-west.blogspot.ie.
