Dead Flies Art by Magnus Muhr

Having spent the day at Hot Bed Press being pestered by flies, I found this post weirdly hilarious!

Swedish photographer Magnus Muhr using the found bodies of dead flies, arranges them on a blank piece of paper and draws them into everyday situations that make fun of humans.
The original idea sparked when Muhr was bored at a party, went for a walk, and found a dead fly on the ground. When he got home he arranged a few dead insects and started drawing them in humorous situations.

Perhaps the flies are anxious to learn printmaking or maybe it’s true someone is buried beneath the floorboards

I’ve seen these before somewhere. They are ridiculous and absolutely superb! I love them but I fear that if I did something like this, people would think I was weird. Is it weird that I have a dead beetle, a dead moth and a rat’s skull (dead, naturally… well actually not naturally, dead by Arthur, I suspect)… lately gathered and hanging around the studio in case I cease
being a painter and start, um, being an arranging-dead-things artist?

  3. That is GOLD! Thanks for sharing it 🙂

Must have been a dreadful party, that’s all.
